RAVENSBURY TERRACE
Ravensbury Terrace transforms a former single storey light industrial building into a carefully crafted residential scheme delivering 17 new homes in Earlsfield, London.
The project responds to a neighbourhood in transition, where historic light industrial uses are giving way to contemporary mixed use development. Our design takes cues from the area’s industrial heritage, reinterpreting it through a robust architectural language that sits comfortably alongside recently approved schemes at 12A and 14–18 Ravensbury Terrace.
The building is composed as a series of articulated volumes, using facing brickwork and metal detailing to create depth, rhythm and a strong street presence. Stepped heights and pitched roof forms break down the scale of the development, allowing it to integrate naturally into the evolving townscape while maximising residential quality.
Pulled confidently to the street edge, the scheme reinforces the urban grain and contributes positively to the public realm, while carefully responding to the sensitive river edge to the west. The result is a contemporary residential building that is rooted in its context, commercially efficient and designed to enhance the character and vitality of Ravensbury Terrace.
Arranged within four townhouse forms, to mirror the housing stock of the local area, the design was intended to be in keeping with the local vernacular, proposing a contemporary interpretation of the existing Victorian properties, through careful detailing of traditional materials and construction techniques.
